HJC FS 15 Carbon Reviews
I found some HJC Helmets online that look pretty good and some of my friends have them and love them but I want to make sure I get a good motorcycle helmet starting out. Are HJC Motorcycle Helmets any good when it comes to quality and stuff like wind noise?
I saw a carbon fiber one the other day at a shop and it was AWESOME looking, but is it a good helmet? Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Mike, thanks for asking and congrats on the new motorcycle. If you are smart then you will buy a helmet and most importantly WEAR It. New riders tend to crash...a lot.....so be careful.
As for the HJC motorcycle helmets, yes I think they are great helmets at a very reasonable price. I think most riders would be hard pressed to know the difference between an HJC and a Shoei if the stickers weren't there but that's just my opinion. I am not knocking Shoei as they are great too, just saying that HJC helmets are, indeed, a good motorcycle helmet.
If you saw a sexy little carbon fiber helmet in the HJC line up then it's probably an HJC FS-15 Carbon helmet. It is the latest incarnation from HJC and replaced the venerable AC-12 Carbon helmet last year. HJC makes good helmets at a good price.
The best in my opinion are the Arai and Shoie.
If you are looking at light the Suomy have lighter helmets than the carbon HJC.

DOT approved or Snell helmets all have to meet certain safety requirements. The higher prices can be for lighter weight or more airflow or any real improvements. Of course a really coll paint job costs more. HJC is an approved helmet so the safety is there.

HJC makes a good Helmet so does KBC both starting at around $150.00 or you can go with a Shoei starting out at around $300.00 if you have a cyclegear store in your area go in and check out what they have here is there website cyclegear.com
